Perry Meridian Athletics Earns State and National Recognition for Excellence Perry Meridian High School Athletics is proud to announce that our athletic department has received two of the highest recognitions available at the state and national levels, affirming our commitment to providing an outstanding education-based athletic experience for every Falcon. For the 2025-2026 school year, Perry Meridian Athletics has been recognized as an IHSAA Sportsmanship Banner School and has also earned the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) Quality Program Recognition at the Exemplary Level. While championships and victories are celebrated, these honors recognize something even more meaningful—the daily work of building a culture where student-athletes grow as leaders, teammates, and people of character. IHSAA Sportsmanship Banner The Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) awarded Perry Meridian Athletics its 2025-2026 Sportsmanship Banner, recognizing schools that intentionally promote positive sportsmanship, leadership, and respect throughout their athletic programs. To earn this distinction, schools must demonstrate excellence in four key areas: Outstanding sportsmanship throughout the school year -Student-athlete leadership development -Meaningful community outreach -Intentional efforts to create a positive school culture This recognition reflects the actions of our student-athletes, coaches, parents, administrators, officials, and fans who consistently represent Perry Meridian with integrity and class. National Exemplary Recognition Perry Meridian Athletics has also been selected by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) to receive the 2026 Quality Program Recognition at the Exemplary Level—one of the highest honors awarded to high school athletic programs nationwide. The Quality Program Assessment is a comprehensive evaluation of an athletic department's philosophy, leadership, operations, risk management, educational practices, communication, and commitment to continuous improvement. Schools earning the Exemplary distinction provide extensive evidence that their policies, procedures, and daily practices meet the highest professional standards established by the NIAAA. As part of this recognition, Perry Meridian Athletics will be honored during a national ceremony in December, recognized at the 2026 NIAAA National Conference in Phoenix, Arizona, and featured in national publications highlighting exemplary athletic programs across the country.
