The Perry Meridian Athletic Department is proud to announce two exciting internal promotions within our Falcon Family! This summer, Chris Payton was named Head Coach of Girls Wrestling, and Keith Stafford was named Head Coach of Girls Basketball. Both leaders have been integral members of their respective programs, and their promotions reflect the commitment, continuity, and community pride that define Perry Meridian Athletics. Coach Chris Payton, a proud Perry Meridian alumnus, has been instrumental in developing our rapidly growing Girls Wrestling program as an assistant coach. As a member of the 2004 State Runner-up Wrestling team and an assistant for over a decade in the program, his deep understanding of Falcon tradition, paired with his passion for mentoring student-athletes, will continue to elevate the standard of excellence within the program. The Payton Family is already a staple in the Falcon Wrestling Club as his daughter and son have been grappling since they could walk. Coach Keith Stafford steps into the role of Head Coach for Girls Basketball after serving as an assistant and bringing a steady presence of leadership and care for our athletes. His wife, Kim, is a science teacher at Perry Meridian High School, and together they are raising their son and daughter within Perry Township Schools — a true reflection of our “Falcon Family” values. Both coaches embody the heart of Perry Meridian Athletics — integrity, belonging, and energy. Their dedication to our student-athletes, both on and off the playing surface, will continue to strengthen our programs and community. Please join us in congratulating Coach Payton and Coach Stafford on their new leadership roles. We’re proud to have them leading the way as Falcons! #FalconPride | #BeDisciplined | #Family
