By Placing Five (5) Runners in the first 21 Finishers, the Perry Meridian Girls Cross Country Team ran an Outstanding Team Race to Place 3rd of 13 Teams in the IHSAA Sectional Meet run at Ben Davis High School. The Falcons have Qualified for the IHSAA Regional Meet next week.
Freshman Savannah Hill led the Falcons Placing 11th, she was followed closely by Seniors Jazlyn Gallardo (13th), and Lauren Mervar (14th). Freshman Vanessa Newhouse placed 17th, while Senior Maddie Dingess rounded out the top five runners finishing 21st.
Senior Emmy Michael and Freshman Lily Gross also had Outstanding races by placing 25th and 34th. This is the highest team placing for the Falcons in the Sectional since the 2012 Season.
Both Savannah Hill (21:00) and Vanessa Newhouse (21:43) ran Personal Best in this meet, while Emmy Michael (22:29) had a Season’s Best Time.
Perry Meridian Advances to the IHSAA Regional Meet next Saturday, October 17, 2020. This meet will also be held at Ben Davis High School.
